Kevin Crowe works in the Blue Ridge foothills, where he lives with his wife Linda. His son Kai now lives in Charlottesville, and Bram is also back in Virginia.

Kevin produces wood-fired functional stoneware with strong Asian and English roots. His work ranges from 4” teabowls to 48” vases.

Kevin’s pots are fired in a 450 cubic foot, 3- chamber combination anagama and noborigama kiln. Firings last 4 days, consuming 5 cords of wood and firing 1200-1500 pots. The kiln is fired twice a year when the moon is right and it’s not soccer season. What a treat! I hope to read about your clay filled life often. Some 35 plus years have passed since that first firing behind the barn on Richmond Road. I can still remember the day lilies, the outdoor shower and stacks of clay. Some treasured pots from the reject pile are still displayed in my home along with other valued pottery. I look forward to the next post.
